World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : UAE defeats Malaysia 2-1
SHAH ALAM, Nov. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : The United Arab Emirates defeated Malaysia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Shah Alam Stadium.
The United Arab Emirates dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by O. Abdulrahman in the 22nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Emiratis further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Khalil in the 52nd minute.
The result put the Emirati second in Group A with 13 points. Malaysia is fourth with 4 points. In their next game, the United Arab Emirates will meet third-placed Palestine at the Shah Alam Stadium on March 24, while Malaysia will face Saudi Arabia.
