World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Australia defeats Kyrgyzstan 2-1
BISHKEK, Jun. 16, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Australia defeated Kyrgyzstan by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Spartak Stadium in Bishkek.
Australia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Mile Jedinak in the 2nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Australians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Oar in the 68th minute.
The result put the Kyrgyz second in Group B with 3 points. In their next game, Kyrgyzstan will meet group leaders Jordan at the Spartak Stadium on September 3, while Australia will face Bangladesh.
