DUSHANBE, Sep. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Australia defeated Tajikistan by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Pamir Stadium in Dushanbe.
Tim Cahill scored dual goals
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Milligan ('57) and Cahill ('73, '90).
The result put the Australians top of Group B with 9 points. Tajikistan is fourth with one point. In their next game, Australia will meet second-placed Jordan at the Pamir Stadium on October 8, while Tajikistan will face Kyrgyzstan.
