World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Australia defeats Kyrgyzstan 3-0
CANBERRA, Nov. 12, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Australia defeated Kyrgyzstan by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Canberra Stadium.
Australia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Mile Jedinak in the 40th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Australians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Cahill '50 and Amirov '69/own).
The result put the Australians second in Group B with 12 points. Kyrgyzstan is third with 8 points. In their next game, Australia will meet Bangladesh at the Canberra Stadium on November 17, while Kyrgyzstan will face Jordan.
