MALé, Jun. 11, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Qatar defeated the Maldives by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Rasmee Dhandu National Stadium in Malé.
45 minutes of play and neither the Qataris nor the Maldivians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Maqsoud in stoppage time.
The result put the Qatari second in Group C with 3 points. In their next game, Qatar will meet Bhutan at the Rasmee Dhandu National Stadium on September 3, while the Maldives will face Hong Kong.
