MALé, Nov. 12, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Hong Kong defeated the Maldives by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday afternoon at the Rasmee Dhandu National Stadium in Malé.
All the action happened in the first half, with Paulinho goal on penalty in the 13th minute.
The result put Hong Kong second in Group C with 13 points. The Maldives is fourth with 3 points. In their next game, Hong Kong will meet third-placed China at the Rasmee Dhandu National Stadium on November 17, while the Maldives will face China.
