World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Iran beats Guam 6-0
TEHRAN, Sep. 3, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Iran defeated Guam by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 4-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran.
Taremi and Azmoun scored dual goals
Iran dominated the first half thanks to goals from Dejagah ('10 on penalty), Taremi ('31) and Azmoun ('34, '41). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Iranians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Taremi '65 and Torabi '89).
The result put the Agana second in Group D with 6 points. Iran is third with 4 points. In their next game, Guam will meet group leaders Oman at the Azadi Stadium on September 8, while Iran will face India.
