World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Oman defeats Turkmenistan 3-1
SEEB, Sep. 3, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Oman defeated Turkmenistan by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Seeb Stadium.
Oman dominated the first half thanks to goals from Saleh ('7) and Saparow ('11 own). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Omanis further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Al-Hosni in the 59th minute.
The result put the Omani top of Group D with 6 points. Turkmenistan is fourth with one point. In their next game, Oman will meet second-placed Guam at the Seeb Stadium on September 8, while Turkmenistan will face India.
