World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Iran beats India 3-0
BANGALORE, Sep. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Iran defeated India by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore.
Iran dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Azmoun in the 28th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Iranians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Teymourian '46 and Taremi '49).
The result put the Iranians top of Group D with 7 points. India is bottom with no points. In their next game, Iran will meet second-placed Oman at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on October 8, while India will face Turkmenistan.
