World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Syria defeats Afghanistan 6-0
MASHHAD, Jun. 11, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Syria defeated Afghanistan by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Samen Stadium in Mashhad.
Rafe scored dual goals
Syria dominated the first half thanks to goals from Rafe ('19, '35) and Ajan ('42). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Syrians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Al Hussain '70, Malki '75 and Khribin '90/penalty).
The result put the Syrians top of Group E with 3 points. In their next game, Syria will meet second-placed Singapore at the Samen Stadium on September 3, while Afghanistan will face Cambodia.
