MUSCAT, Sep. 3, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Syria defeated Singapore by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat.
Singapore made the Syrians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Al-Jafal in the 59th minute.
The result put the Syrians top of Group E with 6 points. Singapore is second with 4 points. In their next game, Syria will meet Cambodia at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on September 8, while Singapore will face Afghanistan.
