World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Syria defeats Cambodia 6-0
PHNOM PENH, Sep. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Syria defeated Cambodia by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 4-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Phnom Penh Olympic Stadium.
Khribin scored dual goals
Syria dominated the first half thanks to goals from Khribin ('29, '39), Malki ('31) and Maowas ('44). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Syrians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Midani '50 and Omari '81).
The result put the Syrians top of Group E with 9 points. Cambodia is bottom with no points. In their next game, Syria will meet second-placed Japan at the Phnom Penh Olympic Stadium on October 8, while Cambodia will face Singapore.
