World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Singapore beats Cambodia 2-1
SINGAPORE, Oct. 13, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Singapore defeated Cambodia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the National Stadium in Singapore.
Singapore dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Faris in the 16th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Singaporeans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Fazrul in the 47th minute.
The result put the Singaporeans third in Group E with 10 points. Cambodia is bottom with no points. In their next game, Singapore will meet second-placed Japan at the National Stadium on November 12, while Cambodia will face Afghanistan.
