World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Afghanistan beats Cambodia 3-0
TEHRAN, Nov. 12, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Afghanistan defeated Cambodia by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday afternoon at the Takhti Stadium in Tehran.
Afghanistan dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Zazai in the 42nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Afghans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Amiri '78 and Amani '90).
The result put the Afghans fourth in Group E with 6 points. Cambodia is bottom with no points. In their next game, Afghanistan will meet second-placed Japan at the Takhti Stadium on March 24, while Cambodia will face Japan.
