World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Japan defeats Singapore 3-0
SINGAPORE, Nov. 12, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Japan defeated Singapore by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the National Stadium in Singapore.
Japan dominated the first half thanks to goals from Kanazaki ('20) and Honda ('26). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Japaneses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Yoshida with just 2 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Japanese top of Group E with 13 points. Singapore is third with 10 points. In their next game, Japan will meet Cambodia at the National Stadium on November 17, while Singapore will face Syria.
