World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Syria defeats Singapore 2-1
SINGAPORE, Nov. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Syria defeated Singapore by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the National Stadium in Singapore.
Khribin scored dual goals
Syria dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Khribin in the 20th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Syrians further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Khribin in stoppage time.
The result put the Syrians second in Group E with 15 points. Singapore is third with 10 points. In their next game, Syria will meet Cambodia at the National Stadium on March 24, while Singapore will face Afghanistan.
