World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Vietnam beats Taiwan 2-1
TAIPEI, Sep. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Vietnam defeated Taiwan by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Taipei Municipal Stadium in Taipei.
Taiwan made the Vietnameses doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Đinh Tiến Thành ('53) and Trần Phi Sơn ('90).
The result put the Vietnamese third in Group F with 3 points. Taiwan is bottom with no points. In their next game, Vietnam will meet second-placed Iraq at the Taipei Municipal Stadium on October 8, while Taiwan will face Indonesia.
