World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : South Korea defeats Burma 2-0
BANGKOK, Jun. 16, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : South Korea defeated Burma by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok.
South Korea dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Lee Jae-sung in the 35th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Koreans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Heung-min in the 67th minute.
The result put the Koreans top of Group G with 3 points. Burma is bottom with one point. In their next game, South Korea will meet Laos at the Rajamangala National Stadium on September 3, while Burma will face Lebanon.
