World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Kuwait beats Laos 2-0
VIENTIANE, Sep. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Kuwait defeated Laos by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane.
Kuwait dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Nasser in the 31st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Kuwaitis further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Al-Mutawa on penalty with just 6 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Kuwaiti second in Group G with 6 points. Laos is bottom with one point. In their next game, Kuwait will meet group leaders South Korea at the New Laos National Stadium on October 8, while Laos will face Burma.
