World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : South Korea beats Lebanon 3-0
SIDON, Sep. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : South Korea defeated Lebanon by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday afternoon at the Saida International Stadium.
South Korea dominated the first half thanks to goals from Jang Hyun-soo ('22 on penalty) and Ali Hamam ('26 own). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Koreans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Kwon Chang-hoon in the 60th minute.
The result put the Koreans top of Group G with 9 points. Lebanon is third with 3 points. In their next game, South Korea will meet second-placed Kuwait at the Saida International Stadium on October 8, while Lebanon will face Burma.
