World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Lebanon defeats Burma 2-0
BANGKOK, Oct. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Lebanon defeated Burma by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Suphachalasai Stadium in Bangkok.
Lebanon dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Maatouk in the 28th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Lebaneses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Atwi in stoppage time.
The result put the Lebanese third in Group G with 6 points. Burma is fourth with one point. In their next game, Lebanon will meet second-placed Kuwait at the Suphachalasai Stadium on October 13, while Burma will face Laos.
