World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : South Korea defeats Laos 5-0
VIENTIANE, Nov. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : South Korea defeated Laos by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 4-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane.
Ki Sung-yueng and Son Heung-min scored dual goals
South Korea dominated the first half thanks to goals from Sung-yueng ('3 on penalty, '33), Heung-min ('35) and Suk Hyun-jun ('43). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Koreans further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Heung-min in the 67th minute.
The result put the Koreans top of Group G with 18 points. Laos is bottom with one point. In their next game, South Korea will meet second-placed Lebanon at the New Laos National Stadium on March 24, while Laos will face Kuwait.
