TASHKENT, Sep. 3, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Uzbekistan defeated Yemen by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Pakhtakor Markaziy Stadium in Tashkent.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Geynrikh in the 51st minute.
The result put the Uzbek third in Group H with 3 points. Yemen is bottom with no points. In their next game, Uzbekistan will meet second-placed the Philippines at the Pakhtakor Markaziy Stadium on September 8, while Yemen will face Bahrain.
