World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Uzbekistan defeats Philippines 5-1
BULAKAN, Sep. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Uzbekistan defeated the Philippines by a big score of 5-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulakan.
Rashidov and Sergeev scored dual goals
Uzbekistan dominated the first half thanks to goals from Ahmedov ('1), Rashidov ('14) and Sergeev ('43). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Uzbeks further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Sergeev '65 and Rashidov '80).
The result put the Uzbek second in Group H with 6 points. The Philippines is third with 6 points. In their next game, Uzbekistan will meet Bahrain at the Philippine Sports Stadium on October 8, while the Philippines will face North Korea.
