RIFFA, Oct. 8, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Uzbekistan defeated Bahrain by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa.
45 minutes of play and neither the Uzbeks nor the Bahrainis have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Sergeev ('52), Ahmedov ('56), Rashidov ('66) and Shomurodov ('90).
The result put the Uzbek second in Group H with 9 points. Bahrain is fourth with 3 points. In their next game, Uzbekistan will meet group leaders North Korea at the Bahrain National Stadium on November 12, while Bahrain will face the Philippines.
