MANILA, Nov. 12, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Yemen defeated the Philippines by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
45 minutes of play and neither the Yemenis nor the Filipinos have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by A. Al-Sarori with just 7 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Filipino third in Group H with 7 points. Yemen is bottom with 3 points. In their next game, the Philippines will meet second-placed Uzbekistan at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on March 24, while Yemen will face Uzbekistan.
