World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Uzbekistan beats North Korea 3-1
TASHKENT, Nov. 12, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Uzbekistan defeated North Korea by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Pakhtakor Markaziy Stadium in Tashkent.
Ri Hyok-chol opened the score in the 2nd minute, before seeing Uzbekistan catch up in the 23rd minute thanks to Sergeev. 1-1 at half time. The Uzbeks eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Geynrikh ('65) and Ahmedov ('87).
The result put the Koreans top of Group H with 13 points. Uzbekistan is second with 12 points. In their next game, North Korea will meet Bahrain at the Pakhtakor Markaziy Stadium on November 17, while Uzbekistan will face Yemen.
