World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : North Korea beats Bahrain 2-0
PYONGYANG, Nov. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : North Korea defeated Bahrain by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday afternoon at the Kim Il-sung Stadium in Pyongyang.
North Korea dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Pak Kwang-ryong in the 45th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Koreans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Jong Il-gwan in stoppage time.
The result put the Koreans top of Group H with 16 points. Bahrain is fourth with 6 points. In their last game, North Korea will meet third-placed the Philippines at the Kim Il-sung Stadium on March 29, while Bahrain will face Yemen.
