World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Uzbekistan defeats Yemen 3-1
DOHA, Nov. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Uzbekistan defeated Yemen by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Grand Hamad Stadium in Doha.
Uzbekistan dominated the first half thanks to goals from Haydarov ('7) and Djeparov ('31). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Uzbeks further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Andreev in the 50th minute.
The result put the Uzbek second in Group H with 15 points. Yemen is bottom with 3 points. In their next game, Uzbekistan will meet third-placed the Philippines at the Grand Hamad Stadium on March 24, while Yemen will face Bahrain.
