World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : South Korea beats China 3-2
SEOUL, Sep. 1, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : South Korea defeated China by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
South Korea dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by Zheng Zhi in the 21st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Koreans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Chung-yong '63 and Ja-cheol '66).
The result put the Koreans top of Group A with 3 points. In their next game, South Korea will meet Syria at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 6, while China will face Iran.
