DOHA, Sep. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Uzbekistan defeated Qatar by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Krimets with just 4 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Uzbek top of Group A with 6 points. Qatar is bottom with no points. In their next game, Uzbekistan will meet second-placed Iran at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on October 6, while Qatar will face South Korea.
