XI'AN, Oct. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Syria defeated China by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Shaanxi Provincial Stadium in Xi'an.
China made the Syrians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Al Mawas in the 54th minute.
The result put the Syrians fourth in Group A with 4 points. China is 5th with one point. In their next game, Syria will meet Qatar at the Shaanxi Provincial Stadium on October 11, while China will face Uzbekistan.
