DOHA, Oct. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Qatar defeated Syria by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
All the action happened in the first half, with Al-Haidos goal on penalty in the 37th minute.
The result put the Syrians fourth in Group A with 4 points. Qatar is 5th with 3 points. In their next game, Syria will meet group leaders Iran at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on November 15, while Qatar will face China.
