TASHKENT, Oct. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Uzbekistan defeated China by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent.
China made the Uzbeks doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Bikmaev ('50) and Shukurov ('85).
The result put the Uzbek top of Group A with 9 points. China is 5th with one point. In their next game, Uzbekistan will meet third-placed South Korea at the Bunyodkor Stadium on November 15, while China will face Qatar.
