World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : South Korea defeats Uzbekistan 2-1
SEOUL, Nov. 15, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : South Korea defeated Uzbekistan by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Uzbekistan had started off well by taking the lead in the 25th minute with a goal by Bikmaev. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Koreans nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Nam Tae-hee '67 and Ja-cheol '85).
The result put the Koreans second in Group A with 10 points. Uzbekistan is third with 9 points. In their next game, South Korea will meet China at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on March 23, while Uzbekistan will face Syria.
