KRUBONG, Mar. 23, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Syria defeated Uzbekistan by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Krubong.
45 minutes of play and neither the Syrians nor the Uzbeks have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Kharbin on penalty in stoppage time.
The result put the Uzbek third in Group A with 9 points. Syria is fourth with 8 points. In their next game, Uzbekistan will meet Qatar at the Hang Jebat Stadium on March 28, while Syria will face South Korea.
