TEHRAN, Mar. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Iran defeated China by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday afternoon at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran.
45 minutes of play and neither the Iranians nor the Chineses have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Taremi in the 46th minute.
The result put the Iranians top of Group A with 17 points. China is 5th with 5 points. In their next game, Iran will meet third-placed Uzbekistan at the Azadi Stadium on June 12, while China will face Syria.
