SEOUL, Mar. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : South Korea defeated Syria by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
All the action happened in the first half, with Korean defender Hong Jeong-ho goal in the 4th minute.
The result put the Koreans second in Group A with 13 points. Syria is fourth with 8 points. In their next game, South Korea will meet Qatar at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on June 13, while Syria will face China.
