World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Uzbekistan beats Qatar 1-0
TASHKENT, Mar. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Uzbekistan defeated Qatar by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Ahmedov in the 65th minute.
The result put the Uzbek second in Group A with 12 points. Qatar is bottom with 4 points. In their next game, Uzbekistan will meet group leaders Iran at the Bunyodkor Stadium on June 12, while Qatar will face South Korea.
