WUHAN, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : China defeated Uzbekistan by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Wuhan Sports Center Stadium.
Uzbekistan made the Chineses doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Gao Lin on penalty with just 6 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Uzbek fourth in Group A with 12 points. China is 5th with 9 points. In their last game, Uzbekistan will meet second-placed South Korea at the Wuhan Sports Center Stadium on September 5, while China will face Qatar.
