World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Syria beats Qatar 3-1
KRUBONG, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Syria defeated Qatar by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Krubong.
Kharbin scored dual goals
Kharbin opened the score in the 7th minute, before seeing Qatar catch up in the 35th minute thanks to Assadalla. 1-1 at half time. The Syrians eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Kharbin ('54) and Al-Mawas ('90).
The result put the Syrians third in Group A with 12 points. Qatar is bottom with 7 points. In their last game, Syria will meet group leaders Iran at the Hang Jebat Stadium on September 5, while Qatar will face China.
