JEDDAH, Oct. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Saudi Arabia tied 2-2 with Australia (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah.
One goal for both sides in the first half, Al-Jassim ('5) for Saudi Arabia, Sainsbury ('45) for Australia and one each in the second, Al-Shamrani ('79) for Saudi Arabia, Juric ('71) for Australia.
The result put the Australians top of Group B with 7 points. Saudi Arabia is second with 7 points. In their next game, Australia will meet third-placed Japan at the King Abdullah International Stadium on October 11, while Saudi Arabia will face the United Arab Emirates.
