JEDDAH, Oct. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Saudi Arabia defeated the United Arab Emirates by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah.
The United Arab Emirates made the Saudis doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Al-Muwallad ('73), Al Abed ('79) and Al-Shehri ('90).
The result put the Saudi top of Group B with 10 points. UAE is fourth with 6 points. In their next game, Saudi Arabia will meet third-placed Japan at the King Abdullah International Stadium on November 15, while the United Arab Emirates will face Iraq.
