World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Saudi Arabia defeats Thailand 3-0
BANGKOK, Mar. 23, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Saudi Arabia defeated Thailand by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok.
Saudi Arabia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Al-Sahlawi in the 26th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Saudis further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Tanaboon '84/own and Al-Moasher '90).
The result put the Saudi top of Group B with 13 points. Thailand is bottom with one point. In their next game, Saudi Arabia will meet Iraq at the Rajamangala National Stadium on March 28, while Thailand will face Japan.
