World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Japan beats Thailand 4-0
SAITAMA, Mar. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Japan defeated Thailand by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Saitama Stadium 2002 in Saitama.
Japan dominated the first half thanks to goals from Kagawa ('8) and Okazaki ('19). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Japaneses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Kubo '57 and Yoshida '83).
The result put the Japanese top of Group B with 16 points. Thailand is bottom with one point. In their next game, Japan will meet Iraq at the Saitama Stadium 2002 on June 13, while Thailand will face the United Arab Emirates.
