World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Saudi Arabia beats Iraq 1-0
JEDDAH, Mar. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (Asian Qualifiers) : Saudi Arabia defeated Iraq by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Al-Shehri in the 53rd minute.
The result put the Saudi second in Group B with 16 points. Iraq is 5th with 4 points. In their next game, Saudi Arabia will meet third-placed Australia at the King Abdullah International Stadium on June 8, while Iraq will face Japan.
