World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Honduras beats Canada 2-1
SAN PEDRO SULA, Sep. 2, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (American Qualifiers) : Honduras defeated Canada by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday afternoon at the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula.
James opened the score in the 35th minute, before seeing Honduras catch up in the 45th minute thanks to Mario Martínez. 1-1 at half time. The Hondurans eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Quioto in the 50th minute.
The result put the Hondurans second in Group A with 7 points. Canada is third with 4 points. In their last game, Honduras will meet group leaders Mexico at the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano on September 6, while Canada will face El Salvador.
