Karlsruher SC forward Ilijan Micanski opened the score in the 33rd minute, before seeing RB Leipzig catch up in the 37th minute thanks to Dominik Kaiser. 1-1 at half time. Die Bullen eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Poulsen ('48, '58).
