SYDNEY, Jan. 15, 2015 (AMP) — Australia 2015 : Iran defeated Qatar by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Asian Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Stadium Australia in Sydney.

The result put the Iranians second in Group C with 6 points. Qatar is bottom with no points. In their last game, Iran will meet group leaders the United Arab Emirates at the Stadium Australia on January 19, while Qatar will face Bahrain.
