French Guiana beats Haiti to advance to Caribbean Cup semifinals
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Nov. 9, 2016 (AMP) — USA 2017 (Qualifiers) : French Guiana defeated Haiti by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 1-2), in a Caribbean Cup qualifying game on Wednesday night at the Stade Sylvio Cator in Port-au-Prince.
Sloan Privat scored tripple goals
Haiti had started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by M. Jérôme ('4 on penalty) and Nazon ('27), while French Guiana only scored once Privat ('38). Trailing 2-1 at half time, the French Guianeses nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring four times in the second period (Privat '58, '64 on penalty, Evens '67 and Baal '90).
French Guiana advance to the Semifinals.The result put the French Guianese top of Group 2 with 6 points.
